CPR and AED Classes  

The College of Charleston EMS sponsors CPR and AED classes open to all Students, Faculty, and Staff. Please visit www.cofcems.com/cpr.html to register for a class.

 
Medical First Responder  
Medical First Responder certification is an entry level certification in the field of pre-hospital medicine. Our training program follows the guidelines as set forth by the U.S. Department of Transportation. One First Responder class is offered each fall . Those selected for the class receive the training at no charge with the agreement to work with the College of Charleston EMS for one semester. mfr
Emergency Medical Technician - Basic  
Emergency Medical Technician training follows the guidelines of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC). The 140-hour curriculum teaches basic life support, advanced airway, and other life--saving procedures. EMT courses are conducted through Trident Technical College, and their affiliate training center: Emergency Training Concepts. emt
Coaching the Emergency Vehicle Operator  
The safe operation of unit equipment is always at the forefront of EMS personnel. CEVO 3: Ambulance is a training program designed to increase driver safety and awareness. This course is required by many agencies before someone is able to operate an emergency vehicle. squad1
In-Service Training Program  
The College of Charleston EMS provides in-service training for its personnel every month. Previous topics have included: diabetic emergencies, patient assessment, entrapment, Blood-borne pathogens, Trauma, altered mental status, and many more. In-Service training is conducted in-house or with other local agencies as the topic warrants. star
