EMT Class on Campus >
The College of Charleston EMS is sponsoring an Emergency Medical Technician - Basic class to be held on the campus Fall 2008.

Emergency: 953-5611

The College of Charleston Emergency Medical Service exists for the purpose of providing basic level emergency medical care, without charge, to the College of Charleston students, faculty, staff, and community.

The College of Charleston EMS was founded in 1995 by a lone EMT working from his personal vehicle. Since then the organization has experienced great change to become the organization it is today. The College of Charleston EMS currently has a volunteer staff of almost 40 members and is continually striving to recruit more dedicated individuals.

In addition to providing medical care, the College of Charleston EMS is also involved in several campus initiatives, including being heavily involved in the placement of automated external defibrillators (AED's) throughout the campus.

CPR Card Update

During the Spring 2008 semester the College of Charleston EMS experienced delays in receiving printed cards from our local training center. Fortunately this problem has been resolved and CPR cards are available for those who have not received them. Future students can expect cards to be available in less than 2 weeks, and often as little as 3-4 days.

First Aid Kits
The College of Charleston EMS is currently selling first aid kits to raise money for supplies and training. First Aid Kits may be picked up at the College of Charleston Department of Public Safety for $20. Checks should be made payable to "College of Charleston Foundation."
