CPR and AED Classes
     

The College of Charleston EMS runs CPR classes at a reasonable rate for all College of Charleston Students, Faculty, and Staff. Please view our schedule of courses for class availability. You may register for any class by emailing EMS-CPR@cofc.edu with your full name, email address, and phone number.

HeartSaver AED - $20*    

This course is designed for those who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of regulatory requirements.

  • Adult/Child CPR w/ Mask and Choking
  • Adult/Child AED
  • Optional: Infant CPR with Mask and Choking
  • Length: 2.5 hours w/out Infant CPR
  • Card: Yes, Heartsaver AED Completion Card
  • Tests: Skills Test

College of Charleston: This class is appropriate for most students seeking CPR certification with a completion card. If you are taking a course at the College of Charleston that requires CPR this will satisfy the requirements for most classes.

 
   
BLS for Healthcare Providers- $30*    

This course is designed for healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses, and respiratory therapists who must have a credential (card) documenting successful completion of a CPR course.

  • Adult and Pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag-valve-mask)
  • Foreign-body airway obstruction
  • Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
  • Length: 4.5 hours
  • Card: Yes, BLS for HCP Completion Card
  • Tests: Written Exam, Skills Test

College of Charleston: This class is appropriate for those wishing to work or volunteer in certain hospitals, re certify for a Lifeguarding class, or other professional rescuer roles. If you are unsure as to whether this is the appropriate c lass for you please contact one of our instructors at EMS-CPR@cofc.edu.

 
   

 

*These course fees are listed for students taking open enrollment courses. If your group wishes to conduct a separate class please contact us for current rates. Payment can be made via cash, check made payable to "College of Charleston Foundation", or IDT.
